Moving to a new PC can be an exciting time. You'll probably have a more powerful processor, larger hard drive, faster networking and I/O, a better monitor maybe, with all kinds of other new possibilities to explore.

But of course there are major hassles involved, too. Like moving all your files. Reinstalling all your applications, as well as their addons and extensions. And then reconfiguring everything with the appropriate settings (can you remember every tweak you've ever made to your browser of choice, for instance? Didn't think so.)

If that sounds too much like hard work, though, keep in mind that there is an alternative.

Laplink's PCmover Professional 11 is a powerful, yet surprisingly simple tool which can automate the process of transferring all your chosen applications, settings and files from one setup to another.

If your system has several user accounts, that's not a problem: PCmover Professional can transfer any or all of them, even preserving the security details about who owns which files.

And if your particular migration doesn't seem so straightforward, don't worry: the program supports several scenarios.

If you're moving from one PC to another, for instance, then as long as you can connect the two - either directly, or just have them visible to each other on the same network - PCmover Professional will be able to transfer your data at very high speed.

You can't connect them? Not a problem. The program can also save the data from your old system to a file, for instance on an external or network drive. As long as your PC can access that file, then PCmover Professional will be able to migrate your files with ease.

And if, actually, all you're doing is planning to perform an in-place upgrade by installing a new version of Windows on a single PC, then the program can help there, too. PCmover Professional 11 includes the Windows Upgrade Assistant, which allows you to upgrade to Windows 11 or 10, then automatically restores your applications, settings and data.

Easy to use

While PCmover Professional 11 sounds like it should be complex - and the program does have a lot of very tricky work to do - in operational terms it's surprisingly easy to use.

After a straightforward installation, for instance, PCmover presents its familiar, wizard-like interface. And once you've chosen whether you want to run an in-place, or PC-to-PC transfer, the migration process proceeds with surprising speed.

And it really is fast. The questions you're asked are simple, and clear: "is this the new or old PC?", "how are the PCs connected?", and so on. There are only a few of them to answer. And PCmover scanned our old system, collecting together information on all the applications, files and settings we could transfer, in less than 45 seconds.

Life becomes a little more involved when you move to the new PC, of course, but it's still not particularly difficult: essentially you just have to define exactly which programs you want to transfer, check the program's copying the files and folders you need, and so on.

If you do run into any problems, Laplink offer free transfer assistance; just call 1-877-904-9644 if you're in USA or Canada, 0800 092 7925 for UK users, or 1800 653 093 if you're in Australia. Alternatively, visit www.laplink.com/FTA if you're outside of these territories.

Once everything is set up, all you really have to do is wait for the PCmover installation on your old PC, to complete the transfer to its cousin on your new system. Which may take a while, particularly if there are hundreds of gigabytes of data involved. But even here the program does its best to help, offering to send you an email or text message when the job is done.

PCmover Professional 11 cannot solve every migration problem, of course. In particular, while the program can move your applications to a Windows 11 system, it can't make them Windows 11-compatible. And so you really need to check your software for compatibility before you do anything else.

What PCmover Professional 11 can do, though, is save you an enormous amount of time and hassle by automating the bulk of the migration process. And that's good enough for us.

Note that the download link here will provide you with PCmover Professional v11, but it will require a serial code to operate, so we've labelled this as a function limited demo and is included as a reference only.

Special Information

Extra Info

PCmover can migrate your PC across a network, Laplink USB cable, Laplink ethernet "Easy Transfer Cable" or any type of removable media that can be read by both PCs. If your computer has multiple users, PCmover gives you the option to migrate some or all of the users at once. The security information about file ownership and access control is preserved for each user. You can even use PCmover to migrate your PC to an Intel-based Mac using VMware Fusion, Parallels or Bootcamp.

Note that PCmover does not include the file transfer cable. You can purchase this separately from this store.

After purchasing Laplink PCmover Professional, if you do run into any problems, Laplink offer free transfer assistance; just call +1 (425) 365-4275 if you're in USA or Canada, 0114 553 1440 for UK users, +61 2 8015 2584 if you're in Australia and +64 4-333 0645 for New Zealanders. Alternatively, visit https://ppc.laplink.com/fta/ if you're outside of these territories.

Performance Issues?

Most system performance issues are often a result of other software clashing with your brand new software. For instance, security software can clash with a background process, such as a system maintenance tool or defragmentation software. Another cause of system slowdown, is a result of two software applications performing a similar task. As an example, Windows includes a firewall switched on as a default. Your new security suite is likely to include a firewall. You only need one firewall running. In this example, try turning off your system firewall.

Uninstalling Your New Software

Occasionally you may need to either temporarily or permanently remove your new software.

On a Windows computer, go to the Control Panel and choose Programs and Features. Locate the program within the list, then click it to highlight it. Finally, click the Uninstall button at the top of the list and follow the instructions to remove the program from your PC.

On an Apple Mac computer, using Finder, locate the Applications folder. Within the Applications folder, find the name of the application you wish to remove. Simply drag the icon to your Trash icon in your dock. Empty the Trash to remove the files from your computer.

Still Having Problems?

If you cannot solve your system performance issues or are struggling to remove your software, we advise contacting the software manufacturer. If you placed an order, see the section in the order which states Support options. Alternatively, go to the Contact Us page to contact store support directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to the most common questions about our services and platform

How Do I Order Software?
Simply select the software you want to order by clicking the "Buy Now" button or, where the option exists, clicking on "Upgrade". The upgrade option enables you to upgrade from a previous version of the software. When you click "Buy Now" you will be taken to your shopping cart, powered by Cleverbridge, where you can choose a payment option and then receive your download and serial code within seconds, after making your payment.
What Is The Extended Download Insurance?
When you order software online, you receive a digital download and a serial code by email. You normally have 30 days from placing the order to download your software, if you need to download again in the future. You can choose to extend this to two years, enabling you to login to your account and find your download, serial code(s) and your original invoice. Ideal if you need to re-install your software, suffer from a system crash or buy a new PC. Simply had to the "My Account" section on this store - or any one of our worldwide stores - to access previous orders.
Do I Need A Backup CD?
No, although some people like to receive a copy of their software on a CD which they can store indefinitely. We provide a backup CD for some applications in the store. For example, we can provide an official colour booklet and installation/backup CD for AVG and Kaspersky software ordered through the store. Some software suppliers, such as Nitro PDF and Paragon Software, will supply you directly with a backup CD if you include this with your order.
Why Are Some Prices Dynamic?
If you are based in New Zealand and you see prices in NZD, you may see a different price in your checkout than we advertise in the store. There's a good reason for this - software suppliers set their prices in USD, GBP and EUR, with NZD and other prices calculated based on the exchange rate and often between USD and NZD. Therefore some prices may be slightly cheaper or more expensive than the advertised price as the prices in the checkout are calculated, on-the-fly, from USD. This does not apply to customers in the EU, UK, US, Canada and Australia.
Why Was My Card Declined?
In most instances this will be due to fraud protection from your credit card provider. Although you have protection when you purchase goods, online, through your credit card, your company may decline a large order or an order made through an online store for the first time. If your card is declined, we suggest you speak with your card provider and/or your bank. You can also pay through PayPal, wire transfer or other payment formats.
Can I Ask For A Refund?
We strongly suggest you download and test trial software before placing your order. Trial software is provided to enable you to determine whether it's applicable for your system and meets your requirements. Once you are happy with your trial software, place an order. Digital downloadable software often cannot be refunded unless the order was placed in error. Activated software cannot be refunded as the code becomes the property of the customer and cannot be resold or reused. If you ordered in error or there is another problem with your order, contact PayPro directly for a refund.
Who Keeps Our User/Order Information?
Your transaction is between yourself and e-commerce providers PayPro. PayPro will NEVER re-use your information, pass on to a third party and will not contact you unless you contact them with a query. Your credit card information is not kept on file and is not stored by any third party. If you ordered Extended Download Insurance with your order, we retain basic information about your order on our secure server. This includes your name, email address (required to access your account), serial codes ordered and download links to your software. No-one has access to this information apart from yourself. This information is only available once you have registered your account using the email address you used to place the order.
